The DORA Military and Veterans Program website offers Active Duty, Reserves, National Guard, Military Spouses and Veterans pathways to professional licensure and customer information.
Colorado State Employment Benefits
Employment Assistance: State employees receive 15 days of paid Military leave annually.
Eligibility: Colorado National Guard or Reserve member.
Unemployment Compensation
Unemployment insurance is a program to pay benefits and help workers who have lost their job through no fault of their own.

Career Assistance for Veterans
Colorado offers career assistance to all individuals who are eligible for Veteran's services. Each workforce center location across the state provides Veterans with priority of service for employment, training, and placement services. Each workforce center is staffed with a local veterans employment representative who is there to assist. For more information, contact your local workforce center.
Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) resources for Veterans
The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) and our American Job Center (AJC) partners are proud to offer career assistance to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces and to other individuals who are eligible for Veteran's priority of service.
CDLE and the AJC's utilize the Connecting Colorado website as our primary website for jobseekers and employers. Once registered as a user, you will receive job matching from this statewide database. Other resources offered include but are not limited to:
- Assistance in developing and customizing resumes and cover letters
- Job search guidance
- Information on licensure, certification ,apprenticeship and training programs
- Information on rights and priority for Veterans
- Direct referrals to job openings
- Customized job development
- Job fairs and hiring events
- Referrals to other agencies for additional assistance and services
- Resource rooms in AJC's with free use of computers, fax machines, telephones and copy machines

VA for Vets
VA for Vets facilitates the re-entry, retention and hiring of Veteran employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We offer career-search tools for Veterans seeking employment at VA, career development services for our existing Veterans, and coaching and re-entry support for military service members. VA for Vets is your gateway to a rewarding career serving our nation's Veterans.
The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs provides our communities, state, and nation a ready military force for national defense and state emergency response. In addition, we provide assistance to our Colorado Veterans. The Department of Military &, Veterans Affairs operates in coordination with Federal as well as State resources and guidelines.
